Resource Library + 7 new Happy Planner Inserts

Happy Monday!

Today I am bringing out a feature to collect emails - yes that is about as honest as I can get. I do not know what I will do with them yet, I do not have a newsletter planned. I just know I should be doing this so I am going to.

What will you get? Access to my printables for the Happy Planner - or if requested other sizes. How do you get access to it? Simply join the mailing list.

Subscribe to my mailing list!

What happens if I join? You will get access to the library, and email updates when I add to it, once a month, with blog post I wrote. I think that is pretty standard.

Onto the printables I designed this month! (and Why)

A simple bookcase and gratitude log. I love the sun version as you can color it. I really wanted to do the bookcase for myself, as I am reading a ton more this year and I am so proud of myself. I left blank spots for you to put in whatever you want, a cat, plants, etc make it your own!

For these, I wanted simple goal and memory keeping. I have seen the Polaroid one used and I thought it was really cute. A typical Jar to fill and then the trophies are a bit odd, they are for step goals. Each time you complete one (i.e. first one is 50 Instagram Followers) you can color it in. Essentially trackers.

Then finally a few maps so you can dream! I did USA and World. I want to see more things in the USA myself, but I am sure there are tons of people with World goals!

Got a request or suggestion? Simple ask!
I love making Bullet Journal style inserts for myself and to share.

Freebie - Saving's inserts (+ a money envelope!)

Ello all~

This month I wanted to focus on the goal of money saving, so I made a few fun printables for you! I also focused this week on stickers for money saving as well! You can see when I post those in the Etsy shop by following me on Instagram.

I was really excited to try these out. They are pink and gold because those are the theme colors I have been using, but if you want another color just comment below and I will try to accommodate.

Anyway I made two types, I have seen the boxes before in bullet journals but I wanted to try something different too. So I designed the hexagons. They have less goals on them, because of sizing, but you can print multiple or combine boxes. For example in my sheet I used the 15 boxes for a vacation and the 5 bottoms for emergency savings instead.

Now you can color these in yourself, or I made matching stickers!

Cut file details for you as well, in case you just want to cut it out of some of your favorite scrap paper. I had a lot of fun making this and I hope it inspires your to start saving towards your own goals. Just a tip on printing these, the files will probably open as a 8.5 x 11 page but you will want to resize it to 9 x 6 so they fit in the hexagons. Just in case. It over laps a bit but looks fine as the full size (I did that by mistake =X so fair warning)

And finally, a simple money envelope. If you like to save money as cash. I do anyway, its funner and less tempting to spend if out of sight for me.

What are some of your savings goals?
We want to go on a week long vacation early next year!

Free Download - Bullet Journal Style Inserts

Hello dears~

Time for another freebie, just to expand what I have on the site for you. These are super simple bullet journal style inserts. In pink, because I like pink.

First up a simple 1 -  30 dot style tracker. Create your own tracker, write down something for each day of the month, etc. Use for whatever you need.

Dots - far apart. Mostly I use this to doodle on, the dots are handy.

And smaller dot sections.

I hope you find these three pages useful in someway, and look forward to more downloads in the future. What do you use these layouts for?

How to Create, Editing and Using Printables - creating simple washi

Today we will cover how to make your own background stickers. This assumes you know basic computer skills such as word processing and how to print said documents.
I will use Microsoft word as it was easier. You can also just download the file here, instead of making it, including the backgrounds I picked out below.

  1. Open word & create a table.
  2. Select all of the cells and right click to hit table properties. I am doing Happy Planner, so my sizes are 2.5 x 1.5, but you may need a different size depending on what planner you are using. I also changed the 2.5 to 2.4 as it allowed more boxes on the page, and seemed like a small difference. Adjust the size as you see fit. I then cleared all the extra boxes away.
  3. A few more changes to make, under table hit OPTIONS to open a new menu.
  4. Clear out the box that automatically fits the image and make the margins 0 on all sides. This makes the image line to line and will make it so the image does not re-size the box.
  5. Now just find backgrounds you like and paste them into the squares. You may need to re-size them for appearances, but it should not alter the box if you use these settings.

In my case, I wanted some Lilly Pulitzer backgrounds so I just googled that. Seriously perfect for summer. You can do this method for quotes as well. As for getting other items, such as flags, you can either cut them as you go, or search for page flags and copy and paste them into Word.

Please note, just because you Google it does not make it FREE USE. You can use anything for personal use, but the moment you sell it it becomes a little more complicated so please keep that in mind as you search around!

Woo this was a long series, looking forward to seeing all the creative things that come from this!

How to Create, Editing and Using Printables - PDF's

Now let's talk if you get a PDF insert or sticker. I will show you how to quickly re size it for your own use. In this example I will use a regular 8 x 11 print, which is typically what I provide, so you can easily make it your own size. This is a bit more technical and involves a bit of math.
For quick reference, here are some measurements. You can Google any additional, but I found these to be the basic:
  • A4 - 8.3 x 11.7
  • A5 - 5.8 x 8.3
  • Personal - 3.7 x 6.7
  • Pocket - 3.2 x 4.7
  • Happy Planner - 7 x 9.25
The reason I try to provide these as PDFs is it is easy to change the paper in adobe. A little harder to get the happy planner sizes, but I will show you how to add that in as well.

Open file.
  1. Open Print box by selecting print vs. using the shortcut.
  2. Click Properties and it will open a new box.
  3. Select Size you need from this menu. If you select a smaller size than the paper you print on, it will just print in the middle(ish). If you use a larger page, like A4 paper, however, it will be cut when it prints. OR
  4. Make a custom by clicking the custom tab.
  5. Enter dimensions and name your new custom (Happy Planner!)
  6. Ready to go! You are ready to print in the size you need. It will require trimming unless you have inserted special paper sizes but this will allow you to make the most of your inserts.
This can also be applied to PDF stickers, if you wish to re-size them. You can actually scale by percentage if you want as well. I do this for shipping labels on small packages. I usually print them at half or even 75% size, to save ink and it fits better.

Now I noticed this only worked on my laser printer, but on the color printer I was able to edit the sizing in another dialogue box same style (it was just more colorful). Look around in the PDF settings, usually under Advanced, to find your printer options.

I hope this was really handy if you have never messed with the settings.
Next lets make our own washi/backgrounds in WORD! (coming soon)

How to Create, Editing and Using Printables

This is going to be a bit long of a  series, so I set it up into three parts and plan to do a follow up on more a more technical side on my process, enjoy!

Whether you have just started with your planner or have been in the planner community for years, printables are available everywhere. They key to planning is to make life easier and more organized. Speaking from my point of view, I tend to make printable inserts and stickers based on need (and wish for a design).
So what is a printable? I want to talk about about both inserts and sticker downloads first. You can typically find them online for free on blogs and websites as well as on Etsy for sale. Either way once you find one you love, what do you do?
Well the benefit to printables is unlimited personal use. If you buy an insert for instant, you can print as many as you need - now or later down the road. Same with stickers. Love that holiday set? Well use it for multiple holidays, week layouts or scrap-booking/paper-crafting as well.
  • Cheaper to buy (typically) and multi-use
  • They are yours to use over and over again
  • You can print them off as many times as you like
  • Sometimes you can even edit them
  • Add personalized items to them if you want
  • You get them immediately and with no shipping cost
  • You don't have to use them all OR can use them for other projects
  • You can typically adjust the sizes for your own use
These are just the benefits I could think of. Now there are some negatives as well. If you do buy printables there are a few cons as well. If you do not have a printer, you may have to print at a print shop. Also its not always fun cutting the small pieces out, if you do not have a machine to do so. I personally provide the cut files as well, as I know many crafters have the Silhouette machine.
Now, lets get started on using printables. First off I will start with stickers as they are the easy to print and go. (this assumes you have a image file vs a PDF)
  1. Obtain a printable, either through purchase or download. Obviously there is my Etsy, and many others but there are also many places that offer free ones, just Google them. I will show you how to make some later.
  2. Purchase some sticker paper OR you can use plain paper and glue them down. I suggest this site for stickers, but if you are just doing a few office stores typically have the 8 x 11 labels. I would really suggest the above site as I got 100 of them for under 20 bucks, and its a way better deal.
  3. Open the files, now if you have a Silhouette machine you want to open the machine file (in .zip folder typically). If you do not have the machine, just open the folder and print full page. With the machine file it should have the markers in place but always double check - this ensures the page will align up and cut where it is suppose to. I've accidentally left them off before as well, it happens so double check. (quick how to print in windows)
  4. Cut them out! Either by hand or with the machine.
  5. Stick them and use them as you want. If you used the machine it should be a full page which you can cut down to store. I store mine all together in a folder to keep everyone straight.
Its really simple with the stickers. There are so many free sites, downloads and purchase-able ones available. Something for everyone's taste. This is also a quick method if you have a image file of an insert. Check out freebies for various files to practice with, or just to download.
Next week we're talk Inserts/PDFs (I'll link when it's ready)

Cherry Blossom Sticker Theme released + freebie

Hello all!

Time for another show off of the latest set I made~ that essentially is what this is + a decoration freebie for viewing and reading along.

It's very hard to pick what do to next, as in my head there are a ton ideas and concepts bouncing around but I really love how everything is turning out. It is helping figure out my planning style as well, and I hope the same of anyone who uses it finds the stickers functional as well as pretty.

This kit is very pink, so there is that but I really liked how it came out. Enjoy the freebie for this month as well!

Freebie will be available all April 2016 then I plan to list it in shop as a deco sheet. You can download the zip file with the silhouette here

Here is a few shots of our I used it while I was doing the test

it looks lovely in June with the colors

I  hope it is liked, you can get it in the shop by page or as the full set. If you buy the full set I also included the 4x6 cards if you want to print them. I always design them before I do a set, so I can figure out my colors/backgrounds.

If you download this set, let me know!
What theme would you like to see next?

Planner Freebie - Goal Dashboard

Hello all!

Today is another insert freebie, this time a goal dashboard - with a small todo list next to it. I created this with the plan you would outline your big goals, then put the smaller goals/to-do's next to that will accomplish it. I wanted to do a dashboard so you could see those goals on a regular basis, it always helps me to review them for a few minutes everyday.

Review you goals often, remember to make them SMART and set smaller goals up to support them. Its cliche' but remember small progress is still progress. I struggle with this, everyone does, so don't feel like you are alone there, just try.

Hope this freebie helps!

My biggest 2016 goal is to make more side money to help pay off some of my bills. So far doing slow but steady progress.

What are some of your goals and how are you reaching for them?

Easter freebie + April stickers finalized

Since Easter falls in March here is another quick freebie to download and cut. You can download the cut file for Silhouette here

I also am finalizing my months. Comments welcome still, but this will be the main design piece for the month. I will add in week washi and a blog sheet on months as well - as I can - and  then maybe sell them as a set (all 3) for a bit of a discount. I am pretty happy with the variety and I feel like if you are a functional planner like me (i.e. I do not cover the whole page in stickers ) this variety is great!

I have been asked why I am not selling cut versions, and the main reason is I cannot get my machine to cut perfectly every time. I have trouble getting it to cut good even once, and I am not sure why still. Its good enough for me - it will sometimes leave a tiny portion off or white - but I would not call it sell-able by any means.

Expect to see some more functional kit/pages up this next week, as I work on then. I am planning a box set or two ( appointments, etc ) and a birthday sheet. I also want to do a variety of weekend banners/banners for decorations and have been keeping an eye out for washi inspiration.

Want to see something specific? Comment below any request! Freebies included, looking at more inserts for those!

Planner Stickers - Printable March add on stickers + March Kit

Happy March!

So I have given myself some goals this year to create stickers and digital content vs items as much. For my planner goals I have set that I will create a monthly color scheme set - full set is the goal but at least monthly AND a matching freebie - themed to the month.

I need to do an Easter set as well, asap since Easter falls in March this year (so weird!) so I will work on that as well.

This time around however I did a quick little st. Patrick's Day theme. You can download the Silhouette file here. It is in my google drive, so you should have access, any issues let me know.

I design for Happy Planner but I think they fit most planners with minimal tweaks if any.

As a side note, I am still tweaking the designs, which you see as I go through the months. All suggestions welcome! I currently make a design, use it in my own planner, then make notes for what I would like to see next/did not use/want more of.

I would love hearing to hear from buyer's / other people on what works for them. Right now I am just browsing and see what I like, trying it, if I like it, keeping it, if not moving on! Luff!
